Volunteer Work Weekends &
Service Opportunities
Volunteer work crews have always been an integral part of the life of camp and Church. We hope you will be part of a great tradition service at Camp Zion!
The Legacy of Work Parties
The original vision for Camp Zion grew out of a desire from returning WWII GIs to build a camp to reach kids and adults for Christ. Early men’s work parties built camp out of nothing. Work crews have been building and maintaining camp ever since.
Time spent away with others is always good. You’ll enjoy the camaraderie, sense of accomplishment, taking care of God’s camp, and helping pave the way for the future of the ministry.
Spring Work Weekends
April 24-26 AND May 15-17
It's Work Crew time at Camp Zion! Help us get camp ready for summer and finish up some important maintenance projects. Great food and fellowship.
We have TWO work dates for you this year:
April 24-26. April 24-26 is the traditional Lumberjack Weekend. You can arrive Thursday or Friday.
May 15-17. May 15-17 weekend will be our final push before summer. We will also have guests in camp during this time. You can arrive Thursday or Friday.
Men & women ages 18 and up welcome; younger students age 12 and up are welcome if accompanied by parent or guardian.
There is no charge to participate. However, so that we can order appropriate food, and have needed work supplies on hand, please register in advance, no later than the Wednesday before. (Emphasis on the word ADVANCE!!)
If these dates do not work for you, please contact us, and we will try to accommocate your schedule.
Please bring sleeping bag, pillow, towel, and if possible, your own tools: chain saws, impact drivers, drills, log-splitters, bulldozers, etc.
Opportunities to Serve
From the beginning, Camp has been blessed with many male staff members and workers – talented, creative, servant-leaders.
There is a tremendous shortage of available volunteers able to serve at camps in this country. We want you to help us change that! We are eager to include more men and ladies as staff, cooks, and volunteers to keep this great tradition alive.
